Rayados defeated America 1-0 at HEB Park in McAllen, Texas, their second preseason game prior to the Apertura 2023 Tournament and the Leagues Cup 2023.
The game began with both teams trying to open the scoreboard.
Esteban Andrada was esential in preventing the goal from America and German Berterame opened the scoring for Rayados.
Miguel Layun came close to opening the scoring at minute 22 when, after a counterattack, he shot at goal, but Esteban Andrada made a great save to deflect the ball to the sideline.

Celso Ortiz took a free kick with a light touch for German Berterame, who took a powerful right-footed shot to score a goal and open the scoring.
Joel Dominguez volleyed a shot from outside the box at 39', but America’s goalkeeper Oscar Jimenez deflected it for a corner kick.
In the second half, both teams made changes to their squads, in an attempt to give their squads mobility and observe their players looking forward to the Apertura 2023.
The game had some highlights, such as the first participation of Joel Dominguez, Diego Escamilla, Kevin Ortega and Victor Lopez with the First Team. In addition, Edson Gutierrez, who underwent surgery in February of this year, returned.
This is Monterrey's second win in its preseason and continues the good progress towards the start of a new tournament.
On Saturday, July 1, at 5:00 p.m., Rayados will visit Atletico de San Luis at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras to debut in the Apertura 2023 Tournament.
