Rayados will face Club Tigres this Tuesday, August 8 at 8:00 pm at the Shell Energy Stadium, in the first Clásico Regio played in the Leagues Cup, in the Round of 16.
Monterrey defeated Portland Timbers 1-0 in the Round of 32 match and is looking to maintain its undefeated record in the international tournament, in which it beat Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders in the Group Stage.
This will be the 132nd edition of the Clásico Regio and Monterrey wants to win and advance to the Quarterfinals.
The last time both teams faced each other at the international level, Rayados won the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League Championship, after a 1-1 draw at the Estadio BBVA and a 2-1 aggregate win.
In the last six games between the two teams, Monterrey has two wins, two draws and two defeats against the felines, so a win in the international derby regio will be a source of great pride for the Rayados fans.
The team coached by Fernando Ortiz wants to keep up the perfect pace, as they have not lost since the Rayados coach took the reins of the team.
Let’s go, Rayados!
