Rayados will face LAFC this Friday, August 11 at 8:30 p.m. at the Rose Bowl, in a quarterfinal match of the Leagues Cup 2023.

Monterrey will be looking to advance to the Semifinals of the competition, in what will be the first time they will face LAFC.

In the Round of 16 in Houston, Rayados defeated Club Tigres 1-0 with the first goal scored by Spaniard Sergio Canales in the blue & white jersey and the 4,000th in the history of Club Monterrey.

Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers are the other three opponents Monterrey has faced and defeated in CONCACAF competition.

The Rayados team has a history against teams from Los Angeles: in 2013 they faced the LA Galaxy in the Semifinal of the CONCACAF Champions League. 

Back then, Rayados won 3-1 on aggregate and, in the end, won the tournament championship and a place in that year's Club World Cup.
