Rayados reached the runner-up position in the Apertura 2023 with a 3-0 victory over Santos in the pending Matchday 10 played this Wednesday at Estadio BBVA.
Monterrey started the match with a hard offense and Maxi Meza opened the scoring in the first minutes. In the second half, Germán Berterame and César Garza scored.
With this victory, Monterrey moved into second place in the general standings of the tournament, with 32 points.

4' RAYADOS 1-0 SANTOS | Maxi Meza
Alfonso González took a corner kick. Maxi Meza entered the box and headed in to score for Monterrey.
Jesús Gallardo started a play on the left flank at minute 22 and dribbled past three players, however, as he reached the opponent's box, the ball crashed into defender Alan Cervantes.
Despite Rayados' attempts, the score remained 1-0 for the rest of the first half.
In the second half, Rayados sought to extend the score and managed to score two more goals.
César Garza came close to scoring when he shot from half distance at minute 55, but his shot went over the goal.
At minute 60, Esteban Andrada made a great save and sent the ball to the corner.

Acevedo denied a shot by Victor Lopez. César Garza scored his first goal as a professional in his first match as a starter in the First Division. Congratulations, César!
With this result, Rayados reached 32 points and will now prepare for the last matchday of the Apertura 2023.
This Saturday, November 11, at 5:00 pm, Rayados will visit Querétaro at La Corregidora Stadium to close the Regular Phase of the competition.
