Rayadas of Monterrey tied 2-2 with Orlando Pride in Matchday 2 of the Summer Cup 2024, played at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The regias team went ahead on two occasions, but the locals managed to equalize and took the extra point, winning in the penalty shootout at the end of regulation time.
Pamela Tajonar performed well when called upon, keeping the danger away from her goal.
At minute 30, Nicole Perez took a free kick. Merel Van Dongen crossed, but the ball ended up in the hands of the home keeper.

After a free kick by Rebeca Bernal, Merel Van Dongen set up Christina Burkenroad, who controlled the ball with her chest and shot with her right foot to open the scoring.
In the second half, Amelia Valverde's team looked to add to their lead. However, on the two occasions that they had the advantage, Orlando tied the match.

After the match ended in a draw, a penalty kick shootout was contested for an extra point.
Rayadas opened with a goal by Rebeca Bernal and Julie Doyle equalized for Orlando.
Diana Garcia gave the lead again and Ally Lemos tied the shootout.
Sofia Manner saved Merel van Dongen's spot kick and Summer Yates scored for Orlando.
Katty Martinez scored her first goal for Rayadas from the penalty spot and Cori Dyke scored for the home side.
Diana Evangelista scored and, on the decisive penalty kick, Alex Kerr gave Orlando Pride the extra point.
The match had an emotional moment for the albiazul team, as Katty Martínez, Rayadas' reinforcement, made her debut with the Regio team.
This 31, at 5:00 p.m., the Rayadas will visit NC Courage in the Summer Cup, a competition in which they have one loss and one tie.
