Germán Berterame is now the tenth all-time top scorer for Rayados!
On Sunday, September 14, during Matchday 8 of the Apertura 2025 against Querétaro, the Albiazul striker netted his 60th goal wearing the Rayados de Monterrey jersey.
With this goal — which gave Rayados a 1-0 victory over Gallos — Germán surpassed Ubirajara Chagas and Francisco “Abuelo” Cruz, who each had 59 goals during their time with Monterrey, placing him alone in 10th place among the Club’s all-time top scorers.
Berterame’s next targets are Alfredo “Alacrán” Jiménez, ninth with 63 goals; Guillermo Franco, eighth with 66; and Rubén Romeo Corbo, seventh with 69 goals.
Berterame’s 60 goals are distributed as follows: 47 in Liga BBVA MX, 4 in the Concacaf Champions Cup, 3 in the FIFA Club World Cup, and 6 in the Leagues Cup.
The Argentine-born, naturalized Mexican forward joined Monterrey for the Apertura 2022 Tournament and has since played 137 matches (116 in Liga BBVA MX, 10 in Concacaf Champions Cup, 7 in Leagues Cup, and 4 in the FIFA Club World Cup).
Thanks to his outstanding performances with Rayados, Germán has also been called up by Javier Aguirre, head coach of the Mexican National Team, to play three friendly matches as El Tricolor prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Congratulations, Germán! May the goals keep coming with Rayados!
