Amelia is an outstanding Costa Rican coach with extensive experience in women's football, she began her coaching career in 2011 with the Flores de Heredia team in Costa Rica.

Amelia led the Costa Rica Women's National Team in the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, marking the beginning of a journey filled with significant achievements.

With the national team, she won the Gold Medal at the 2017 Central American Games in Nicaragua, the Silver Medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, and the Bronze Medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima.

She joined Rayadas in the Clausura 2024 tournament with the goal of contributing to the growth of women's football within the club and achieving the highest honors both on and off the field.

A year later, she made history by becoming the first coach to secure a back-to-back championship with the club. Amelia now continues to pursue further success with the team.
