Monterrey's Rayadas tied 1-1 with Toluca Femenil on Matchday 1 of the Apertura 2023 at the Estadio Nemesio Díez. 

The Rayadas team started the match on the attack during the very first few minutes, but it was not until the second half that they managed to take the lead. 

Diana Evangelista had the first opportunity at minute 3 when she shooted the ball with her right foot after a cross from Chinwendu Ihezuo, but the ball crashed into Toluca's goalkeeper, Mirian Aguirre.

At minute 28, Natalia Colin from Toluca sent in a cross from the right flank and the ball passed right next to Alejandria Godinez's goal. 

Lizette Rodriguez and Carlee Giammona came close to opening the scoring for Rayadas but could not find the back of the net. 

In the second half, Rayadas went forward and Rebeca Bernal scored the go-ahead goal for the Rayadas team. 

Mariel Roman from Toluca fouled Chinwendu Ihezuo inside the box and the referee awarded the penalty kick.

The Rayadas captain took a powerful right-footed shot and scored the Rayadas' first goal of the tournament. 

The Rayadas continued to push forward with the intention of extending the score.

After a lose ball from Chinwendi Ihezuo, Natalia Gomez Junco shooted from a long distance and scored the goal for Toluca, impossible for Alejandría Godínez.

On Saturday, July 22, at 9:00 p.m., the Rayadas will host Leon at Estadio BBVA for Matchday 2 of the Apertura 2023 tournament.
