This Tuesday, February 6, at 7:00 p.m., Rayados del Monterrey will visit Comunicaciones FC in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup First Round at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium, in Guatemala.

The match between Rayados and Comunicaciones will be the first in this new format of CONCACAF's top club competition.

Twenty-seven teams will participate in this edition, which in addition to competing in national tournaments in Mexico, Canada and the United States, also qualified through three new regional cups in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The winner of the competition will earn a ticket to the 2024 FIFA International Cup, as well as to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, for which Monterrey has already qualified as champion of the CONCACAF Champions League in 2021.

Comunicaciones FC is an old acquaintance of Monterrey, as they faced each other in the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage, which the team from Monterrey would eventually win.

Rayados will be looking to get off on the right foot to fight for their sixth title in CONCACAF's most important club tournament.
