Rayados lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Semifinal at Lower.com Field on Wednesday.

A place in the Final of the competition will be decided on Wednesday, May 1 at Estadio BBVA.

The Monterrey team started the match looking for the opponent's goal, however, Columbus opened the scoring.

At minute 7, Sergio Canales sent a through ball to Brandon Vazquez, who took a powerful shot, but goalkeeper Patrick Schulte prevented the goal.

Esteban Andrada made a great save off a difficult shot from Juan Hernandez in the 18th minute, but it was a great save, Sabandija!

In the second half, Fernando Ortiz's team searched for the opponent's goal and Maxi Meza tied the match, but a goal by Russell Rowe gave the Americans the lead.

In a great triangulation, Luis Romo filtered for Jesus Gallardo, who sent a lateral pass for Maxi Meza to send the ball into the back of the net.

Esteban Andrada made two great saves in successive plays when he saved a shot from Diego Rossi and deflected a shot from Zawadzki for a corner kick.

The second leg of the Semifinal will be played on Wednesday, May 1, at 8:15 p.m., with the support of the fans at the Estadio BBVA.

Monterrey will advance to the Final, if they win 1-0 or by a difference of 2 or more goals. A 2-1 win would force extra time and penalty kicks.
