Rayadas of Monterrey defeated Atletico de San Luis 1-0 at Estadio BBVA, as part of Matchday 5 of the Apertura 2024 Tournament.

The Monterrey team maintains its perfect record in the Liga BBVA MX Femenil with four wins in four matches, 11 goals scored and zero conceded.

It is also Monterrey's tenth win in 10 matches against San Luis.

The albiazul team started the match attacking the rival and had a couple of approaches that failed to materialize.

Christina Burkenroad had the first chance of the match at minute 9, when she connected with a through ball from Zellyka Arce, but the ball went just wide of the goal.

After a series of rebounds in the 22nd minute inside the Potosi box, Diana Garcia shot with her right foot just wide of the goal.

At minute 35, Diana Evangelista shot from three-quarters of the field. The ball was on its way to the back of the net, but goalkeeper Nicole Buenfil prevented the goal.

Amelia Valverde's team kept up the intensity and search for the goal, and it was Christina Burkenroad who was in charge of breaking the rival's net.

Juana Plata sent a cross to Christina Burkenroad, who received the ball inside the box and opened the scoring with a powerful shot.

Katty Martinez fired a half-volley inside the box in the 67th minute, but the ball went just wide of the goal.

Rebeca Bernal took advantage of a rebound on the edge of the area to fire a powerful shot just over.

With this result, the Rayadas now have 12 points and are in second place in the overall standings with 11 goals scored and zero conceded.

This Friday, August 16, at 9:06 p.m., Monterrey will visit FC Juarez at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez to play Matchday 6 and fight for the lead.
