Rayadas adds a new international player!

In order to continue meeting the objectives of the Apertura 2024 Tournament and to have an outstanding participation in the newborn CONCACAF Champions Cup W, Rayadas of Monterrey have added a new player to their ranks.

Marcela Restrepo, a midfielder and member of the Colombian National Team, signed a one-year contract with the Rayadas and is determined to make an impact in Mexican and international women's soccer.

The 28-year-old player comes from Atletico Nacional, Colombia, where she played during the 2023-2024 season and was one of the top scorers.

Marcela's career began in Brazilian soccer, where she made her debut at the age of 18 with Vitoria das Tabocas, in 2014.

She returned to her native Colombia in 2015 to play for teams such as Generaciones Palmiranas, Cortulua and Atletico Huila.

Marcela emigrated in 2020 to soccer in Spain, where she played in teams such as UD Collerense, Sporting de Gijon and DUC Logroño, with which she participated in the Second Federation FutFem of Spain and the Copa de La Reina.

She is a reference of the Colombia National Team since 2018, being called in tournaments such as the Copa America Femenina Chile 2018 and the Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018.

She achieved with her national team the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Peru 2019.

Marcela participated with Colombia in the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games, competition in which she played all 4 games. In the Quarterfinals she faced the Spanish National Team, where her now teammate, Lucia Garcia, plays.

The Colombian player arrives at the Rayadas to contribute to the achievement of the Club's maximum objectives and to seek the second championship of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil.
